The National Managers' Community (NMC) Mike Nurse Leadership Award recognizes managers who demonstrate excellence in meeting management and leadership challenges and who have led national initiatives that have positively impacted the community of federal public service managers across the country. Each year, one award is presented to an individual manager/leader/team.
The award consists of an inscribed trophy that will be formally presented at an upcoming National Managers' Community event. In the case of a team award, the team may be asked to select one person to accept on behalf of the team.
The following outlines the selection criteria of the Mike Nurse Leadership Award. The award is named for the first Champion of the National Managers' Community, a truly outstanding leader who exemplified the following criteria. Mike was greatly admired and respected by all who knew him; receiving an award in his name is a great honour.
A manager/leader/team who has demonstrated excellence, leadership and passion in support of managers across the federal public service through:
A selection committee will be convened comprising members of the National Managers' Community Governing Council and, if possible, representative(s) from the NMC's ADM Advisory Board.
